Why don't we share the same fascination for aliens as the western countries? Are we not interested in life beyond earth? How the space race between the US and Russia fuelled this fascination. How ISRO failed to get us excited about space. How much of the space fascination is related to the spirit of exploration and materialism. Can we set better collective goals like "settling on mars" before handling our social issues like poverty, casteism, and inequality?
