Description

As we continue our journey through Hebrews, we come to the first warning passage in the book—Hebrews 2:1-4. The author urges his readers to pay close attention to the gospel message, warning of the danger of drifting away. Using nautical imagery, he illustrates how neglecting Christ’s superior message leads to spiritual drifting. He then reminds us that if disobedience under the Old Covenant, given through angels, carried serious consequences, how much more accountable are we under the New Covenant, revealed by Christ Himself? Finally, we see the gospel’s confirmation through Jesus, the apostles, and God’s miraculous signs.
