In this episode, I hang out with Bennett.io. Bennett is an EDM artist, singer, and songwriter. They love making simple, catchy, lo-fi, pop melodies with background sounds resembling Nintendo games. Listen to find out their production process for going about getting the right snare sample. Growing up in Detroit, Bennett would spend all of their money on gas and EDM, electronic, and techno music. They talk about overcoming the need to control everything and how to relinquish that control. Bennett recommends collecting ducks from duck machines to meet new people out and about. Mainly the duck machine at The Cobra. House venues are their favorite to play in Nashville and Burque house is their favorite one. Lastly, they recommend reaching out to people who inspire you, taking the initiative, and booking the shows.
