Description

In this episode, I hang out with Deshaun and Cam of Bummer World. The brains and brawn of the trio (including Happy episode #34) that make up Bummer World. Bummer World is a lifestyle brand among many other things. Cannabis, clothing, and culture. The brand encompasses pop ups, fashion shows, concerts, skate parks, flee markets, etc.  We talk about the difference between having friends/ having a team and the difference between hosting a free event/paid event. Deshaun discusses vendor/ merch table etiquette. The do’s and don’t s at tables where items are sold. For instance, don’t be fronting and don’t pick up things you aren’t going to buy. From selling embroidered T-shirts in the hallway in high school to creating a brand. Deshaun’s favorite shirts are the obscure ones found thrifting, bugle boy shirts, and big shirts with a tight collar. Brands like Supreme and Stussy. Listening, you’ll learn the complexities of building a brand, collaborating, and strategies for exposure. Cam advises not to be afraid to drop content, even if its trash content, the only way you are going to learn is to do it. Cam describes being inspired by things rather than people, lingerie being one of them. Musical influences like A Tribe Called Quest, OutKast, Lupe Fiasco, Kid Cudi, and N.E.R.D. Movie influences like Joker, Moonlight, Moonrise Kingdom, and Jackie Brown. Enjoy!
