In this episode, I hang out with David Isenberg. David is a guitarist, singer, and songwriter.
David is a unique artist who defies genre classifications. While he performs regularly on the honky tonks of Broadway, he doesn’t consider himself a traditional country artist. Instead, he sees himself as an innovative, spiritual creative on a “sacred quest to kick down invisible doors” and bring people into new modes of thinking.
David discusses how his faith and diverse musical influences - from blues to Weird Al - inspire his songwriting. He aims to create music that is authentic and emotionally impactful, saying “There’s a place for Morgan Wallen and there’s a place for me!”
David also shares advice for other artists, emphasizing the importance of trusting the creative process and working hard. His wide-ranging inspirations, from literary giants like Dostoevsky to contemporary acts like Gorillaz, shine through in his music. Enjoy!
