In this episode, I hang out with Zilla. Zilla is a rapper/hip hop artist, writer, poet, and part time legal assistant. He’s drawn to contemporary world issues, studying the events, and then peoples’ reactions to the events. He likes to understand the why on every side in politics. He cut his teeth writing raps to other people’s beats like the Lil Romeo Show. The first album he ever bought on ITunes was Kanye West’s 808s & Heartbreak. Zilla was lucky enough to perform in the Donda show in Atlanta. One of his biggest strengths as an artist is getting an entire room on one accord. His favorite venue is Marathon Music Works where he did a New Year’s show with Mike Floss and Cherub.
Influences like Kanye West, Jay-Z, John Mayer, Foo Fighters, Bombay Bicycle Club, August Burns Red, Snoop Dogg, and E-40. One of his biggest personal growths is the ability to release music and live with it. His advice to artists in Nashville is to be careful who you take advice from, bring your fire and A game, and learn how to support others. You can support him as an artist by following him on Instagram, Spotify, and Apple Music. Buy his music directly, be on the lookout for ticket, and tell your friends about his music. Buy. Stream. Follow. Share. Fun fact is he starts everyday at 4am. Enjoy!
