Description

St. Patrick’s “Breastplate Prayer” was the revivalist’s prayer for divine protection, power and holy presence. A “lorica”, meaning “armor” in Latin, this Celtic prayer prepared him to face physical and spiritual battles with intercessory faith as well as to confront the mythological, occult beliefs prevalent in Irish pagan culture. Throughout the episode, we’ll go line-by-line through this daily decree, clothing ourselves in the same spiritual armor that helped St. Patrick triumph in victory against druid kings and forces of darkness. Rehearse God’s abiding presence through these timeless words, finding communion with the Creator and comfort in the “Sacred Three”, just as Saint Patrick did, emboldening your own prayer life.
