Question of the day: Why is it easier to do your federal income taxes than to access financial aid to help fund the cost of higher education? The simple answer is that both processes are run by the government. The difference is that we all have to pay taxes no matter what. But access to financial aid (which, by the way, is OUR tax money) is thwarted by a salad of numbers and terms that confuse even higher ed experts. So, we have to give, but getting anything back is another matter. What’s up with that?
