Description

So many of us fear death because what happens in the afterlife is unknown. However, thanks to a half-century of research from Dr. Bruce Greyson on near-death experiences (NDEs), we do have clues into what happens to consciousness after death. Listen in as James and Bruce discuss learning and insights from thousands of NDEs and how we can use them to make the most of our lives here on earth.
Dr. Bruce Greyson is Professor Emeritus of Psychiatry and Neurobehavioral Sciences at the University of Virginia School of Medicine. He served on the full-time medical school faculty at the University of Michigan; at the University of Connecticut, where he was Clinical Chief of Psychiatry; and at the University of Virginia, where he held the endowed Chester Carlson Professorship and was Director of the Division of Perceptual Studies. He was a co-founder and President of the International Association for Near-Death Studies, and for 26 years edited the Journal of Near-Death Studies, the only peer-reviewed academic journal devoted to near-death experiences.
Dr. Greyson has published more than a hundred scholarly articles about near-death experiences in peer-reviewed medical journals and three academic books. His research for the past four decades has focused on near-death experiences and particularly their after-effects and implications. His new book. After: A Doctor Explores What Near-Death Experiences Reveal about Life and Beyond, is his first trade book bringing his scientific research to a popular audience.
