In our first interview with NASA, the Perseverance Rover was about to land on Mars. A few months later we connect with Elio Morillo, a system testbed engineer working on the Mars Mission. In this out-of-this-world talk we learn about his journey and what inspires his interest in space and science.
For the last four years, he has contributed to the mission by developing and executing electrical integration procedures, verification and validation, and most recently, nominal and off-nominal operations readiness testing of Mars surface operations.
Elio designed and executed testing procedures to verify flight systems capabilities for the Mars 2020 Remote Sensing Mast, Gain Antenna, Rover Motor Controller, Mars 2020 Engineering cameras, and the Mars Helicopter System.
