And her creativity, work, and influence has paid off. In her hometown, Portsmouth, Virginia honor and celebrate by a naming a street after her: Missy Elliott Boulevard. The governor of Virginia has named October 17, 2022 Missy Elliot Day. Since this taping, she has been nominated to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
