Description
The news is back after the saturated coverage of the Royal Funeral.....so it's back to normal with the Government letting us know how they are going to save us all money on our energy bills...with the opposition disagreeing with everything....and none of us having a clue what they are all talking about.
On the sporting front,,,which is far more interesting...the great Roger Federer has retired from competitive tennis.....he had it all and is an example and inspiration to future players...............
I can put up with women's football, up to a point, but they do not belong in the commentary box......
and the ladies have managed to get themselves into pro snooker with "mixed doubles snooker"....I watched 5 minutes of it at the weekend....no thanks
.............and I had to laugh at one of the ladies cricket internationals where one of the bowlers stumped one of the players as she was about to bowl.....legal but rather unsporting......very naughty.
On the entertainment front we have the return of Strictly Come Dancing......which I must admit I quite enjoy.....despite two blokes and two women dancing with each other....but the show is well put together and the band is great.
Then we have the return on Blankety Blank..hosted by BradleyWalsh which must put him in the Guinness Book of Records for number of appearances in different programmes.....he's never off........I watched the first episode which will be enough for me.....dreadful.
On Strictly one of the featured songs was "Go West" which the wonderful band did really well....I always thought The Village People were what pop music is all about and loved everything they did...especially this song.....I never tire of hearing it ....there is a 12 inch version of it which is as good as music gets but it is a bit long for this podcast so I would like to feature, if I may, the original version by The Village People.....definitely one of my favourites.
