On Slice 26 I fly from the British flag in the UK to a flag that contains the British flag in the Atlantic Ocean as I make the trip to the beautiful Bermuda. It is here I chat with Raheny native Ronan and learn all about Bermuda GAA and how it has evolved from the mid-2000s when my sister-in-law was among the original founders! I chat with Ronan and how the small island has grown the game, looking for friendships and rivalries in the GAA world, playing GAA in a country that is barely a mile wide in some parts, competing against the rugby 7s and cricket, Ronan’s dad as a referee, Sligo Rovers man Dante Leverock on the GAA board out there, being on a flight with Mattress Mick and of course the key questions like Guinness or Bermuda rum, Horseshoe Beach or the Irish beaches and finding out whether Bermuda soccer legend Shaun Goater really is the goat! And did Ronan teach Brian Fenton everything he knows? Find out soon!
