Description

Ryan, a 21 year old college student, started with an unhealthy obsession with food and working out very early in life. After being treated for an eating disorder in her high school years she started having some physical issues that caused her to gain weight. The doctors were unable to help her much during this time and she became increasingly unhappy with her body. It affected her school, her social life, and her self-image.

The pressures of the times coupled with a tendency to overly fixate on "being healthy" left Ryan lost, frustrated, and severely depressed. She could not seem to control her body, no matter how hard she tried. The struggle to let go of our own expectations for our bodies is something that every woman can relate to. There are some things that we can’t “fix”. This interview really makes you think about what “healthy” really means.
