This week’s topic was a requested topic regarding how to feel your sad or hurt feelings without allowing them to consume you. In DBT, there is a skill called “riding the wave” that is used to manage unsafe urges (i.e. self-harm) that Mari and I also teach to sit with emotions that we deem uncomfortable, too much or too hard.
