It’s always a beautiful reminder how basketball connects so many people across the world! Doesn’t matter if you played at the highest level or just have a passion for the game, basketball will forever be a dot connector! We’re continuing to connect the dots and show love to some of the greatest hoopers to ever touch a rock! This week we’re headed to the city where basketball was created! Springfield, MA! I was privileged to spend 4 great years there during my college career and was able to obtain my degree! During my travels I forged a friendship with one of Springfield, Massachusetts greatest athletes and unsung heroes! A 2-sport star in football and basketball, this elite hooper won the John ‘Honey’ Lahovich award in 2003 which is given to the best player in the region! Life’s trials and tribulations will always creep in but it’s how you adjust! We’ll sit down and tap in with Western Mass great Mike Vaz and go through his journey! From being a highly touted basketball and football player to the pitfalls he experienced as a collegiate athlete to his near death experience as a victim of domestic violence! We’ll touch it all!
