Description

Charlotte's guest today is long term friend and colleague, Russell Rose. Russ has held a private psychotherapy practice since 1996, when he qualified from The Chiron Institute of Body Psychotherapy. He has a special interest in enactment-dynamics and the history of consciousness.’  My work as a kitchen therapist echoes these interests.  Finding fire can be argued to be the spark of consciousness – the imagination, creativity and sense of time that centres around our ability to cook food is key to what makes us human, our consciousness of past, present and future ignited in the cauldron of hunting, preparing and eating food.  in his paper “The Integration of History” Russ makes the point that "We have to integrate who we have been in order to be who we are...” – just as each ingredient and flavour of a meal is incorporated and essential to the whole.

This episode is particularly poignant when we're talking time... It is the first produced by Lucas Baker, a young man I have known since the first few days of his life, and now we are working together on this project. Incredible gift if reminder of the passing of time...! You can hear more of his work at https://open.spotify.com/artist/6vGOQftDMuTDd52XoKi9Nu?si=s_0S_fknQcmuOzcGeY664g Nice one Lucas. Thank you.
