I wanted to highlight some interesting facts I came across from reading the first three chapters of Nehemiah. I identified the following things about Nehemiah, the royal cupbearer:
Trustworthy – to God and man. A leader with excellent skills (he planned and organized).
A prayer warrior (he often prayed to God and praised Him for who He is. Nehemiah not only prayed for himself but the people. The length of his prayers varied: some short, some long.
A heart for serving God and his people, the returning exiles.
A man of great faith (Nehemiah knew the God he served and was knowledgeable about God’s word – He prayed God’s word).
Discreet (Nehemiah did not disclose what God laid on his heart to do for Jerusalem until the right time because he was aware of the opposition. Not everyone present was available to do what pleased God.
Respectful (to God, the king, and the people he served). I hope you found this segment helpful.
