Cork Admirals HC Alan Lomasney has been around Irish football for over 20 years. He joins Colum Cronin to talk about how his uncle's passion for the Chicago Bears and Walter Payton's brilliance led to him becoming a fan of the sport and a newspaper ad led him to the Admirals in 2002. Alan offers insights into his coaching philosophy, the importance of developing a youth programme, and the Admirals approach to the 2023 season. He also shares some stories from helping to organise the Hope Through Football Camp with Rod Woodson and Chuck Bresnahan, meeting Emmet Smith’s high school HC and having the opportunity to attend Northwestern’s team meetings and practices last year including being in their QB room and meeting with with HC Pat Fitzgerald and OC Mike Bajakian.
