Welcome to Day 18 of the 30-Day “Living an Authentic Life Challenge.”

I am Tanya E. Hood and today for this 30-Day Challenge we will be discussing success.

People think that success occurs when your name is known by the masses.  People love the big moments of success, but it's often what's done at night that gives you the chance to reach the goals that people see in the light. I'm not certain if you heard the saying, “do not despise small beginnings.”  A lot of people have no idea that that saying came from the Bible.  It's found in Zechariah 4:10.

Those big moments that you see in the spotlight, often start with you inspecting the walls of what's occurring in your life at night. Where you are right now and what are you doing at this moment in this small space and place where nobody even knows your name, is often where success occurs.  The limelight simply exposes it.  Success occurs in the long nights that are spent trying to finish the tasks you set before you.  Success occurs in the early mornings when you rise to get a jump start on your day. Success occurs in the moments you decided not to quit, when you are so tired your brain felt fried. Whenever you decide to achieve something special that work that you put in is success.

I want to encourage you to start celebrating the small steps that you take to achieve the goals that you desire. Celebrate those moments because each time you complete a step, that is success. It's time to start redefining success so that people don't end up in a space or a place where they are truly burnt out.  Struggle often exists when you want to reach your goals.  There will be moments when you get tired, but being burnt out should not be your experience.  Celebrating your victories, even if you feel they are small, is not being self-centered.  Those celebrations are like battery packs that recharge you and give you moments to rest and enjoy the journey. It's giving to yourself so that you can give to others.  Your celebration may help others be strengthened to do what they have desired in their minds to do.

If you want a next-level note, celebrations that honor God allow Him to come in the middle of it and He fills you up while often supplying an abundance of resources.  Don't think you're small room talk is not important. It takes those that do the little things well to get the big things done. If you ever forget, just remember most fortified walls are constructed 1 brick at a time.  It’s the small brick that builds the massive structure. The diligence and the effort that you put forth at this time is what will lead to the success that a lot of people see in the limelight.

Here's one last thing,  I want to leave you with, you can ask God for success, not just the strength to cope with what's going on in your life.  You can genuinely ask for whatever endeavors you are in to succeed. Those things that have been sealed in your soul time and time again beyond anything that you can ever imagine are usually the things that God intends for you to do, so He will give you success to accomplish it.   I love that the Bible says that God is a good father and if we as human beings can give good things to our kids, what more can we truly think the Creator of the Universe will do for us.

Day 18, success.  What small win can you accomplish this week?
