Description

Do you ever find yourself getting bored or complacent as a coach on days where there is lots of running, rowing, biking, or skiing. Do you find it difficult to coach your athletes when there isn't a complex barbell movement or technical gymnastics movement?

Technical coaching is only a small part of the coaching craft, and we will be severely limited as coaches, if that is the only tool in our coaching tool box.

Coaching intensity, otherwise thought of as coaching effort or pacing, is a great way to add value to our athletes and the class experience, when athletes are already moving well. It's especially valuable with things like rowing, biking, and skiing, where we have the benefit of a monitor to show speed and power output in real time.

This episode covers some ways to coach intensity in your athletes, and why it's necessary to do this if you want to create smarter and fitter athletes.
