In 1587 John White set sail in an attempt to colonise the New World, but due to a severe shortage of supplies he was forced to return home, leaving his daughter and newly born granddaughter (as well as over 100 more settlers) on the island of Roanoke - North Carolina. Due to delays he wouldn't return for a further 3 years. When he returned the entire colony had disappeared, but what happened to them? Did they move? Were they murdered? Were they abducted by aliens?
