How can we achieve universalisation of education system while also establishing a discrimination-free education system? How can we hope for the development of nation if the provision of education is still divided according to the Varna's and jatis? If it will be like this, then we should not hope to move forward as we are still stuck to the Orthodox rules created in 1500BC. We are going backwards, aren't we? Universalisation of education refers to make education universal, to provide it to every one of us.The "Right to Education" Act 2009 states free and compulsory education for children. "Article 45" in the Directive Principles of State Policy in the Constitution mandates the state to endeavour to provide free and compulsory education to all children up to the age of 14; despite such initiatives we are unable to realize the goal of universalisation of education.
