Rev Mike Weaver, Senior Pastor at GMC again brings the word of God with a focus on Paul's ministry to the Thessalonians, as described in 1 Thessalonians 2:1-12 where he defends his ministry against accusations of self-interest. We're challenged to consider how we, as Christians, might face similar pressures to conform or instead 'deconstruct' our faith (not the way to go by the way!). The key lesson is that genuine Christian ministry seeks to please God, not humans, even when it leads to conflict or persecution. We're encouraged to emulate Paul's approach: boldly proclaiming the truth, showing genuine care for others, and living in a manner worthy of God. This message is especially relevant in our current cultural climate, reminding us to stand firm in our beliefs while showing Christ-like love to others.
