As Christmas approached, Pastor Mike Weaver led the midnight worship at GMC, Here, he reminded us of the extraordinary way God chose to enter our world.
The story of Jesus' birth, as told in Luke 2:1-7, reveals how the divine broke into the ordinary. In Bethlehem, the 'house of bread,' Jesus - the Bread of Life - was born in humble circumstances. This narrative challenges us to see how God often works through the seemingly insignificant and lowly. The census that brought Mary and Joseph to Bethlehem shows how even mundane government decrees can be part of God's grand plan.
As we reflect on this, we're encouraged to look for God's hand in our everyday lives, recognizing that He can use the most unlikely situations to bring about His purposes.
So how might we all this Christmas, like Mary and Joseph, faithfully respond to God's call, even when it leads us to unexpected places?
