Description

Pastor Mike Weaver considers Jesus' call of the 12 Apostles from among His followers, known as disciples, after a night spent in prayer. This short passage has wisdom for the prayer life of the Christian - in that there are times where we need to pray for prolonged period, pray when we come to make momentous decisions, and perhaps most importantly to listen in prayer.

It also is that, in the call of the 12 as Apostles, Jesus sets in place a new leadership to show a new way to God. The way of Jesus Christ, that people of all tribes, tongues and nations can know God by way of a relationship with Jesus. These Apostles would show the way - by love. And so, the challenge of this sermon and of this passage is for the church to truly be the community of God, by coming to Jesus in a deeply personal way, and to show one another that love. Our church is not a movement, but a relationship - with Jesus Christ. May you know that today. The GMC Podcast is a production of Gillespie Memorial Church, Chapel Street, Dunfermline, Scotland.
