Description

This recording was taken from YA (Peak Vision Young Adults). The speaker is Lené, she is from Fragrance & Fire South Africa. Fragrance & Fire visited Peak for over a week and joined in and contributed so much to the people of our church and Hawke's Bay. It was an honour having them.

In this gathering, Lené shares that spiritual growth is a process of deepening understanding and increasing dependence on God rather than becoming self-sufficient or 'growing up.' She challenges the notion of independence and maturity often associated with adulthood, arguing instead for a childlike faith that is reliant on and trusts in God. Maintain constant faith in God's goodness and sees it crucial to acknowledge our need for Him in our daily lives, including in understanding love and managing our resources.

Lené shares the concept of affect regulation, our ability to control and balance our emotions relative to our external circumstances. She draws an analogy with babies who cannot regulate their emotions independently and require the calming presence of a parent to help soothe them, suggesting a parallel to our need for God's reassuring presence in managing our emotional states.
