Bol jedným zo sedemdesiatich Kristových učeníkov. Stal sa biskupom v Kolosách. Bol prepadnutý počas bohoslužieb. Vytiahli ho von z domu a kameňovali. Nakoniec ho na kúsky rozrezali nožmi (okolo r. 65)
