Morning Routines, do you have one?  Do you love them?  Yes or No?

I used to be a morning person, prior to having my children I used to LOVE getting out of bed early and going to the gym, spending time alone, recharging myself with quiet time before Steve got up and work started. But then I had my girls and I became sleep deprived and now I am most definitely a lie in bed for as long as I can kind of person

BUT the problem with this is I dont get that alone time that used to recharge my soul, as an introvert I need that time, that time totally alone in my own body and mind fuels me

Somewhere along the line I lost that by getting up later and loving the time to sleep instead. So its really easy to have all the good intentions, to go to bed with the intent to get up and have that time but then morning rolls around and its warm and snuggly in bed and its cold when you dip your toe out of the duvet and you decide that rolling over and having 30 minutes more sleep is actually more of a pull for you

So, I wanted to share a few tips I’ve been trying as I get back into my own morning routine.

Use the 5 second rule system - when you want to turn over and go back to sleep, count backwards from 5 and by the time you reach 1 you push yourself out of bed and plant your feet on the floor - just start counting backwards to yourself: 5-4-3-2-1, done, out of bed and ready to start the day.

Keep it simple and make sure it feel good to you.

Just because someone else spends 30 minutes in meditation every morning and then another 20 minutes journaling doesn't mean that you have to. If you hate that idea then DONT DO IT!!!! Your morning routine is supposed to start your day off the right way and make you feel good, so if you hate meditation that wont make you feel good, it wont start your day off right and it will instead have the opposite effect and make you feel bad - find something that makes you feel good and do that, it is totally personal

Get used to time blocking, I can get up in the morning and spend 15 minutes on facebook looking at the things I need to look for and answering comments that I have to answer OR I can spend 2 hours in the scroll hole mindlessly looking and scrolling and wasting time. Time blocking helps keep me on track, having things spaced out in my diary for the things that seem insignificant keeps me on task. You can even set alerts on your phone for when the facebook time is up and you know you ned to move on to the next thing.

What are some of your tips for a morning routine?

I’d love to hear what you do or I'd love to hear what you want to start doing Lets keep each other on task ❤
