We witness a worship service like none other in the fields outside of Bethlehem that night. As an angel (likely Gabriel) informs the shepherds of the born Messiah, there is a hopeful expectation that is only broken by the sound of heaven rejoicing. JOY is the response to Christmas! JOY is the fruit of the presence of God in Christ! When Emmanuel comes, humanity knows that God loves and cares for the soul in desperate need of saving. This birth forecasted something much greater than just an ordinary child's arrival, for this was no ordinary baby! This was the Savior of the world, born to die for the sins of mankind.
