In this third message from the "Standing Firm" series, Pastor Joey looks at Paul's love for the church as demonstrated in Thessalonica. His love is rooted in people and a deep concern for the souls of believers there. In spite of the trials and hardships, Paul exhorts the church to persevere. Trials are apart of God's plan to initiate and/or grow faith. He understands that the mark of effective ministry is not in how many people attend but in how many lives are being transformed by the gospel. The modern church often loses sight of this truth. In a culture that drives entertainment, crowd size, and social media followers, it is easy to forget that people are what ministry is about. Message preached on Sunday, September 10, 2023.
