As we continue in the Ezra-Nehemiah narrative, we discover that WORSHIP is absolutely critical to the Christian life. As the Jews return to Jerusalem to rebuild, they first re-institute worship around the old covenant worship practices of the altar, festivals, etc. This was crucial to focus the people on the WHY REBUILD before they ever laid the first brick.
