It may be the most unpopular word in our culture.... Repentance is much more than just a feeling of sorrow or guilt. It's a word that denotes a removal of sin and a replacing with God, His Word, and Christ! In Ezra 9-10 we get a beautiful picture of repentance as the people are exposed to God's Law (the Scriptures) and are convicted by their sin. Ezra models biblical repentance and the people follow. Repentance has ALWAYS been the message of Christianity. From the prophets to John the Baptist, from Jesus to the Apostles, REPENTANCE is the proper response to the gospel! And this act isn't a one-time event, but a constant in the life of the Jesus-follower. When was the last time you really repented, that you grieved your sin to the point of change? For most, it's been too long. Yet repentance is an absolute necessity to see revival and restoration! There is no restoration without repentance! Message preached on Sunday, March 6, 2022 at ParkerDC.
