Do not steal. That sounds simple enough.... until you begin to look at all the ways that one can manipulate people and things for financial gain. The 8th Commandment isn't just dealing with petty larceny, but fraud, lying by omission to the IRS, shady business practices, and even withholding a tithe to the LORD (see Malachi 3). Essentially, this command exposes our greed and self-centeredness. And, like all of the other commandments, we find ourselves guilty and in need of Jesus Christ!
