Suffering is often viewed ONLY as a negative thing. But for faithful believers, suffering should be viewed through a greater redemptive lens. The apostle praises the church in Thessalonica for their endurance and faith in the midst of challenges and pressures resulting from that faith. Paul describes this suffering as benevolent, sharing in the sufferings of Christ. This is such an important truth to understand as we experience persecution and suffering.
