Fear is a motivator, albeit not always a healthy one! Much like anxiety over a final exam, it can be overwhelming to consider End Times events as pictured in Revelation specifically, and in text like 1 Thessalonians 4-5 as well. There is so much we don't know YET. In this text, Paul highlights another event in this topic after his discussion of the Return Of Christ (the "rapture") in 1 Thessalonians 4. In chapter five, Paul speaks of the "Day Of The Lord", or the day of God's wrath upon unbelief and rebellion. As you read the specifics that the Bible clearly states, it will be a "day" (or season of days) full of punishment, discipline, tribulation, and ultimately final judgment. For believers, however, this day is a day of promises fulfilled and even joy. That joy isn't a result of other's pain, but because God is both righteous AND just. Evil will not win this Day!
