We see again how God uses Elijah to confront the wickedness of Ahab. We also witness God's patience and kindness even amidst Ahab's incomplete repentance. The purpose of God's confrontation with evil is to bring conviction, leading to repentance (not just sorrow), and ultimately reconciliation.
