As a result of God's work of redemption, the Christian has the ability through Christ to "put off" sin and live in Christ's righteousness. We discover the absolutely necessity of the Holy Spirit to live spiritual, God-honoring lives. And as we do so, we recognize (more and more) that God is shaping us into a "chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession" so that we can declare the goodness and glory of God in the world that he has placed us into.
