In this message, Pastor Joey looks at the Gospel of Suffering as highlighted in Peter's words here in 1 Peter 4:12-19. The modern church often omits this theme of suffering for something more comfortable, palatable, and easy. But the New Testament church took Jesus' words in John 16:33 seriously. They expected opposition and suffering because Christ experienced opposition and suffering for our salvation! We are commanded to REJOICE in the midst of such trial, not because we like pain, but because we know we aren't alone in the suffering. We enjoy His Presence in the suffering with us. Ultimately, this theology of suffering is framed around the faithfulness of God! Every suffering, trial, and hardship has a redemptive purpose. This side of heaven we may not understand that, but God is doing something in the midst of pain! He is faithful! Message preached on Sunday, July 31, 2022 as part nine in the series, "Different".
