Emotional intelligence is arguably the most important skill you can develop in the 21st century. To thrive in relationships, as a parent or in a leadership position, it’s imperative that you not only deepen your own capacity for emotional self and co-regulation but you also create the space for those around you to deepen theirs.
Even in the corporate world this is becoming more commonly recognised. As the saying goes, “IQ will get you hired, EQ will get you promoted”.

This in itself isn’t a great thing, but the real issues start when that starts to impact their ability to connect with what is going on emotionally for those around them.
