Description

Padre's Hour - Week beginning 8 March - March 8th is International Women’s Day and this week, Father Sam Randall has the privilege of speaking to an amazing woman who we at Radio Maria England are celebrating, Sister Margaret Walsh, the founder and patron of St Chad’s Sanctuary, a charity committed to helping asylum seekers and refugees.  The charity has continued to operate throughout the past year, providing food, clothing and hygiene products for those who have nothing. St Chad’s Sanctuary is a charitable incorporated organization (CIO) that works with the Infant Jesus Sisters, the Salvation Army, the Archdiocese of Birmingham, and Father Hudson’s Care. It provides practical support to large numbers – sometimes as many as 200 in one day – of asylum seekers and refugees. This includes providing clothes, food, welfare information and English classes.  She also established the Hope Community Project in Wolverhampton and Brushstrokes in Smethwick.
