Rumours of trips full of excitement
Of rueful travellers that never arrive
Chasing happiness in a lucent future
Ignoring daily activities filled with joy
As little birds chirp on a flowering tree
Share a cup of tea, if the kettle is free
How little we need to be merry
Childlike silliness and days light up
The glee of finding your whacky tribe
Of senseless chatter with old friends
The elation of doing what you truly love
Optimizing for independence, not fame
Of binging on movies, all workday long
Work on a Sunday, if an idea comes along
Contentment of a tiny speck on timeline
Unfussed over appearing ‘cool’ to others
A nun’s bowl is full of food and flowers
Her smile fills a barren road with spring
Elation of finding a worthwhile cause
A kind act, not meant to be noticed
Of giving someone a morsel of hope
As an ocean of gratitude fills our lives
