Welcome to episode 8 of The Unpacked Podcast! In this episode we discuss how we've seen an influx in people returning to the hobby (in multiple capacities) as well as the success of breakers on Instagram. We were delighted to be joined by Elliot (EC Trading) on todays episode of the podcast, as someone who has recently returned to the hobby after several years away. It was great to chat to Elliot about why he decided to return, his motivations, what he hopes to do with his Youtube channel and what he thinks of the some of the new hobby releases and why he is so drawn to these. We also discuss a joint business venture between Jack and Elliot, called TradeWii cards and both talk about why they started this up, why they get such a buzz and how they facilitate other people receiving fantastic cards and why it is so fun to open the hobby/higher end products. Products discussed in todays episode include Panini Prizm and Obsidian, as well as the excitement around the soon to be released Panini Mosaic Euro 2020 hobby card release, while we also talk heavily about Topps F1 Chrome and past hobby releases from Topps such as Premier Club. We also have a good conversation around the price of the hobby products and whether the jump between entry level collections and the hobby sets is too much in some cases.
