Samara is the Founding Partner of Chingona Ventures a pre-seed venture backed fund that invests in technology backed companies across the united states.
“Chingona” is a Spanish word for a woman who is fearless and gets things done & Samara defines this. Just this year Samara and her team raised a new $52 million dollar venture fund to invest in the next generation of bad ass founders.
She's a latina based out of Chicago, who had to fight and claw her way to where she is today, because she simply didn't have the connections growing up that many future investors do.
In this interview, Hernandez gets vulnerable & shares her life story & experiences that actually helped her get to the top, plus the importance of diversity within the investing field & what makes a rockstar entrepreneur.
Samara is also an active member of Latinx VCs, a San-Francisco based group of experienced venture investors coming together to connect, engage, and foster the Latinx VC ecosystem.
