"If anyone asks what your father does tell them he works in San Francisco at some investment firm" My mom would say to me when I was 10.
What I didn't realize till now was that my mom had planted the seeds of lying in my mind.
From there it grew to the point that I spent amazing amounts of energy trying to get everyone to never see my truth. Spending energy to try to fit in and be like everyone else.
But for what? To feel like I was part of a group that I would not be a part of if I had actually understood myself.
This episode runs 10 minutes and I talk about the story of my childhood and how I cultivated lies. I made my own truth in my adulthood and how I dropped that. Spoiler I met a person who saw past my masks and lies and made me open up in a way I had never done before.
