Matthew Mayer specifically made some comments in the post game press conference referring to some difference in option between himself and head coach Brad Underwood. Coleman Hawkins and Terrence Shannon have downplayed the comments, but something is definitely not clicking right now for the Illini.

Illinois women’s basketball is off to their best start in more than a decade in the inaugural Shauna Green Era. The Illini beat Missouri by ten on Sunday to move to 10-2.

Aaron Henry is the new Illinois football defensive coordinator after Ryan Walters left Illinois to become the new Purdue head coach. Kevin Kane follows Walters to Purdue to take on defensive coordinator duties with the Boilermakers. In other football news, Devon Witherspoon and Sydney Brown announced they are sitting out the ReliaQuest Bowl to prepare for the NFL Draft.
