The Illini missed 15 straight shots early in the game, and their first 12 3-point attempts, but responded on their way to a 16-point halftime lead. Illinois (2-0) continued the hot streak in the 2nd half and outscored the Roos by 22 to win it.
Dain Dainja was a monster putting up 20 points and 15 rebounds, to go along with 5 blocks. He’s only the 2nd Illini since 2010 to put up 20-15 in a game, the other being Kofi Cockburn. Terrence Shannon, Jayden Epps, and Skyy Clark were the other Illini to score in double figures.
