In this episode we take a trip across the world to connect with Ben down in Australia. Ben started a company called Gecko, this company allows individuals to rent items for events, photo shoots and parties from people who have event items on hand (umbrellas, tents, speakers, etc). Therefore, people with event items or photo props on hand can make some extra cash. Ben and I spoke about how he was able to grow Gecko from the ground up to the successful business it is today. We discussed building a business in Australia as compared to the process in Canada. Canada and Australia share similar challenges with smaller population density and less access to funding. Entrepreneurs must get creative with ways of raising funding and standing out. Ben, as a true entrepreneur, has come up with creative ways to get face to face with investors and book meetings at a rate most people would need to see to believe.
