In this episode, Elin & Christina talk with a fellow colleague, Dr. Whitneé Garret-Walker. They discuss their time as a k12 administrator in Oakland, CA, and the impact it had both professionally and personally. Dr. Garrett-Walker breaks down her journey and her hope for educational justice now and moving forward.

Dr. Garrett-Walker has spent over a decade working in public education as a teacher, teacher-leader, and school leader in Oakland and San Francisco, California. Aside from being a history and special education teacher, Dr. Garrett-Walker truly enjoyed building lasting relationships with youth and creating learning environments that were culturally responsive. Whitneé is an unapologetic Black, Indigenous, queer, woman, mother, wife, and practitioner-scholar who is dedicated to collective liberation.
