Description

When our speaker, Solveiga Jaskunas, grew up under the Soviet regime, she was constantly exposed to state propaganda, and reliable information was difficult to access. But when people stopped being afraid and began to tell the truth about the past, the Soviet state soon fell apart. Today, most of us live in democratic societies in which information is more accessible than ever before. Yet misinformation can spread rapidly with devastating consequences. In her talk, she discusses how we can learn about propaganda from the past to help us shape a better future.
